Barracuda Racing Team Helps Drive Away Hunger

WHAT:
The Barracuda Racing crew, along with driver JR Hildebrand and the No. 98 car, will be at Second Harvest Food Bank’s Cypress Center to help the Food Bank drive away hunger by raising awareness about this critical local issue. Headquartered in the Bay Area, Barracuda Networks is a supporter of the Second Harvest Food Bank and the primary sponsor of the No. 98 car in the IZOD IndyCar Series. Hildebrand, a Bay Area native, will sign autographs and there will be pit crew demonstrations.

Barracuda CEO BJ Jenkins will co-chair Second Harvest’s Holiday Food and Fund Drive this year, along with Dan Campbell, COO for Backup and Recovery Systems at EMC Corporation. The Barracuda Racing crew will stop by Second Harvest to help shine a light on hunger in celebration of the upcoming GoPro Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma at Sonoma Raceway August 23-25.

WHY:
To raise awareness about the issue of hunger in Silicon Valley. The number of local families and individuals who need food assistance continues to rise, despite the improving economy. Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties provides food to more than 250,000 people each month in its two-county region – that’s one in 10 residents.
